DEFENSIVE HANDGUN 1
Course Description: This course was designed to develop the student’s ability to safely handle and employ a handgun in a defensive situation. Students will quickly gain experience, confidence and increase their skill level with a handgun. Students will be presented with a wide variety of practical drills and exercises designed to develop a working knowledge of shooting fundamentals.

- Maintenance of the pistol
- Shooting fundamentals
- Gear placement
- Ready positions
- Reloads and malfunctions
- Drawing from the holster
- Recoil management
- Multiple shots
- Multiple targets
- Shooting positions
Ammunition required: 300 handgun rounds
About the Instructors: Our instructor staff is comprised of subject matter experts with years of tactical experience in law enforcement, combat arms, protective services, defensive driving, marksmanship, technical surveillance, and counterterrorism. Each instructor has been carefully selected for their operational background serving on elite law enforcement or military units. Special Operations Systems is dedicated to teaching modern tactics, techniques, and procedures that have been proven in combat zones and high risk law enforcement operations worldwide. Based on their own real world experience our instructors understand the value of high quality training. Our goal is to insure you are prepared to excel, when the mission counts.
Pre Requisites and Equipment requirements: Qualified Civilians in Good Physical Condition. Pistol, Holster, Minimum three magazines, Magazine pouch, Belt, Clear wraparound eye protection, Ear protection, Rain gear, Firearm cleaning kit, Clothing appropriate for climate and conditions, Water bottle or other hydration system, Ball Cap, Sunscreen, Knee and elbow pads (optional), No cross-draw or appendix-carry holsters. Lunch.
